E48 - Meaning
Occurs when the control detects a short circuit of the thermocouple
Possible reasons:
Thermocouple connection reversed / connected incorrectly
Insulated thermocouple wire shorting to chassis earth (damaged insulation).
Damaged or defective thermocouple
Weak connection of thermocouple to valve
