Frequently Asked Questions

It is critical that your coals, pebbles, or logs are placed correctly. Placing them incorrectly will block the desired flame path. This will then lead to sooting. Please refer to your installation instructions and relay your coals correctly.

Remote controlled gas fires can use batteries in the hand held remote control and the product. Batteries in gas fires are nearly always AA batteries, but must be at very least an Alkaline battery. Do not use low energy batteries. Please refer to your installation instructions for the amount and location of your battery. If your gas fire still fails to light, please remove the batteries from your gas product for 30 minutes then replace and retry.

Please push the slide control lever down until you hear a spark and see a flame. After approximately 10 seconds from seeing a flame, give the lever a further push before slowly releasing the lever.

Make sure that the product is plugged in correctly. Follow the mains lead to the product, as some of our products have a kettle type plug. Make sure this has not been displaced.

If you have a hand held remote control, set the heat temperature slightly higher

There is a guidance in the installation instructions, but logs and coals on electric fires can be placed randomly unlike a gas fire.
