Why are the coals or pebbles on my fire sooting?
Sooting usually occurs if the coals or pebbles are not positioned correctly on the fuel bed
Therefore, restricting the airflow to the burner. For the correct coal or pebble layout consult the installation manual provided with your fire which contains an image of the correct layout and instructions on how to lay them.
